Controls Engineer - Chemical Manufacturing We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controls Engineer to join our team in the chemical manufacturing sector. Salary: $120,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and enhance automation and control systems including electrical, PLC, DCS, and pneumatic circuits across the chemical plant.
- Ensure all control systems are in compliance with safety and regulatory needs, focusing on SIL/LOPA assessments.
- Develop and maintain accurate instrument and electrical documentation and drawings such as motor elementaries and instrument loop sheets.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to support routine tasks as well as emergency work orders and system breakdowns.
- Manage and update PLC documentation consistently and maintain an organized archive of PLC programs and machine control drawings.
- Lead educational sessions and mentoring for the technical staff on control system strategies and proper installations.
- Contribute to the development and upkeep of IT and communication infrastructure pertinent to control system operations and alignments with business needs.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a directly related field.
- At least 3 years of proven experience in Electrical, Controls, and Instrumentation within a chemical manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on practical experience with Allen Bradley and Rockwell Automation Controls systems.
- Proficient understanding of both IT and OT network communication protocols and their applications in ICS environments.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements specific to industrial control systems.
- Well-versed in PSM and DHS regulatory standards, ensuring safety and compliance in all engineering initiatives.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. without the need for sponsorship, now or in the future.

- Advanced degree or professional engineering certification.
- Experience in project management and leading cross-functional teams.
- Previous roles with focus on automation enhancements and big data integration.
- Training and certifications specifically related to safety assessments and control system security measures.
