Job Description :

Keymark Corporation of Florida, a leading aluminum extrusion manufacturer, is actively seeking candidates for the role of Plant Controller for its Lakeland manufacturing plant. In this role, you will oversee the financial operations of a manufacturing facility, have direct reports from purchasing and receiving, ensure accurate financial reporting, cost control, and compliance with organizational policies and regulations, and provide strategic financial guidance to plant management to support operational efficiency and profitability.

We are looking for applicants with a data-driven mentality and intellectual curiosity. In this role, you will travel to the corporate office in Fonda, NY, at least once a quarter. Monday - Friday work week with typical office hours.

The Plant Controller is a Sr-Level Management Position, with the following minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in financial management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to work effectively with diverse teams.

The Plant Controller position is being offered annual compensation structure + Bonus, depending on your knowledge and experience level.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting and Analysis

  • Prepare and analyze monthly and annual financial statements for the manufacturing plant.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production costs, labor efficiency, and material usage.
  • Provide variance analysis comparing actual results to budgets and forecasts.

Budgeting and Forecasting

  • Develop and manage the plant's annual budget in collaboration with plant management.
  • Create accurate financial forecasts to support strategic planning and resource allocation.
  • Track budget performance and recommend adjustments to achieve financial goals.

Cost Accounting and Control

  • Oversee cost accounting processes, inventory valuation, and overhead allocation.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency.
  • Conduct regular cost reviews to ensure accurate product costing and pricing.

Inventory Management

  • Monitor and reconcile inventory records to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Coordinate physical inventory counts and cycle counts to maintain inventory integrity.
  • Analyze inventory trends and recovery to optimize stock levels and minimize waste.

Compliance and Internal Controls

  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies.
  • Maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Support external audits by providing documentation and addressing inquiries.

Strategic Support

  • Partner with plant management to provide financial insights for decision-making.
  • Evaluate capital expenditure proposals and calculate return on investment (ROI) for new projects.
  • Drive long-term strategies to improve profitability and operational performance.

Team Leadership and Collaboration

  • Supervise and mentor staff at the plant, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, purchasing, and supply chain, to align financial and operational objectives.
  • Communicate revenue and cost performance and recommendations to senior management.

Process Improvement

  • Identify and implement improvements to financial and operational processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Leverage technology and data analytics to streamline reporting and decision-making processes.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in aluminum extrusion.

Candidates' Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prefer applicants with an Aluminum Extrusion background, but it is not required.
