Controller - Metcma : Job Details

The Controller supervises and directs the financial activities of the golf club. This is a role with potential to grow into a very senior level position.Will make recommendations on building out a team to help manage the business operations of the club.

· Develop, establish and administer procedures and systems pertaining to financial controls.

· Prepare the monthly financial statements including Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Projections, forecasts and analysis for all administrative and managerial functions for the club along with required supporting schedules and other data necessary for financial reports and records.

· Prepares budgets and financial forecasts in coordination with various committees, departments and General Manager; analyzes financial information, monitors budgeted versus actual expenditures and advises management about variances and their potential causes; recommends corrective actions to help ensure that budget goals are met.

• Manages and conducts internal auditing programs to help assure that records are accurately maintained and that established policies and practices are satisfactorily and consistently followed.
• Makes appropriate accounting entries in system as necessary.
• W orks with the Club's external auditors to ensure that procedures are consistent with club policies.

· Verifies the taking of inventories for beverages, food, supplies, equipment and furnishings.

· Verifies that all insurance records for club property are properly maintained.

· Negotiates and maintains contracts for maintenance of computers and office equipment.

· Attends monthly Board, Finance Committee and other meetings as required.

• Assistant Controllers or rising stars are also encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• BA or BS degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of experience in the service industry, Golf Clubs preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively with the public, members/owners and other Team Members
• High attention to detail and strong time management skills

Date Position Available

Salary Range

$75,000 – $90,000

Commensurate with experience.
