Five Star Global is seeking a strategic, hands-on Controller who can do more than close the books — we're looking for a financial leader who thinks like an operator. This role goes beyond traditional accounting: it's about partnering with the CEO and leadership team to scale the business, drive strategic decisions, and bring financial rigor to operational conversations.

With a clear path to the C-Suite, you'll oversee the full spectrum of financial management — including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, audit, tax, compliance, and treasury — while helping evaluate new business opportunities, optimize workflows, and create accountability across the organization.

• Act as a key advisor to the CEO and executive team on financial performance, growth planning, and capital strategy.
• Lead development of short- and long-term financial goals, annual budgets, and multi-year forecasts.
• Provide financial modeling and scenario planning for strategic initiatives, including acquisitions.
• Translate complex data into insights for stakeholders.
• Evaluate new product lines, business units, and investment opportunities.

• Assess and improve financial workflows for speed, accuracy, and visibility.
• Collaborate across departments to align financial goals with operations.
• Implement best practices in reporting, compliance, and controls.
• Lead or support system upgrades (e.g., accounting, FP&A, CRM), working with IT.

• Oversee accounting team, ensuring integrity of financial statements and compliance.
• Lead audit readiness and execution.
• Maintain Deferred Billings Schedule and cash forecasts.
• Ensure timely filing of tax returns.

• Manage cash flow reporting and forecasting; approve payments.
• Maintain relationships with banks and vendors.
• Support capital planning and investor reporting.

• Bachelor's in Accounting; CPA preferred.
• Public accounting background.
• 4-5 years of progressive finance leadership experience.
• Expertise in GAAP, financial systems, and reporting.
• Hands-on QuickBooks experience.
• Strong leadership and mentorship skills.
• Excellent communication and executive presence.
• Proven strategic partner to leadership.

• Experience in media, publishing, events, or professional services.
• Ability to connect finance with operations and drive results.
• Enjoys problem-solving, system simplification, and scalable infrastructure development.
