Our client is a growing manufacturing/CPG business with a strong market presence. They are seeking a hands-on Controller to lead our accounting and finance functions. This role is perfect for a proactive leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to drive financial excellence while rolling up their sleeves to get the job done.
Position Overview:
The Controller will oversee all accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls. This individual will be a strategic partner to senior leadership while also ensuring day-to-day accounting functions run smoothly. The ideal candidate has a strong background in manufacturing or consumer goods and is comfortable working in a hands-on, leadership-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end close, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll
- Prepare financial statements, forecasts, and budgets, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP
- Manage cost accounting, inventory controls, and financial analysis to support operational efficiency
- Lead internal controls and compliance efforts, ensuring adherence to financial policies and regulations
- Partner with senior leadership to provide financial insights that drive business decisions
- Optimize ERP systems and financial reporting tools to improve efficiency
- Mentor and develop the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred)
- 7+ years of accounting/finance experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Background in consumer goods, manufacturing, or distribution required
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, and inventory management
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks, or similar)
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
