Job Title: Controller (Hybrid - Eugene, OR) Job Type: Full-Time | Pay: $98,000 – $123,000/year A dynamic and mission-driven financial institution is seeking an experienced Controller to lead the organization's accounting operations and financial reporting functions. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Planning & Leadership (25%) Develop departmental strategies and goals that support overall business objectives. Lead initiatives that drive operational excellence and team engagement. Champion a culture of accountability, collaboration, and results. Accounting Oversight & Reporting (30%) Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end close, and regulatory reporting. Ensure accurate financial statements and compliance with GAAP and relevant regulations. Coordinate with software vendors to maintain system efficiency and integrity. Team Development (15%) Mentor and support accounting staff through coaching, training, and regular performance feedback. Set clear goals and foster a high-performing, motivated team. Budgeting & Process Improvement (15%) Support the annual budgeting process and provide detailed forecasting and analysis. Identify opportunities to improve workflows, reduce costs, and enhance reporting. Vendor & Internal Relations (10%) Manage vendor relationships related to finance and accounting systems. Prepare and deliver financial insights and presentations to internal stakeholders. Compliance & Engagement (5%) Maintain compliance with internal policies and external regulations. Participate in community engagement initiatives as part of a values-driven culture. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience). 3–5 years of management-level accounting or finance experience, preferably in a financial institution. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Deep understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards. High proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, and accounting software in a networked environment.
