Job purposeResponsible for overseeing financial planning, analysis, reporting and compliance activities. Ensure the timely and accurate completion and distribution of financial information to both internal and external users. Work closely with senior management, including the Vice President of Finance, department managers, and others to ensure that financial practices support the organization's manufacturing and overall business goals.Duties and responsibilities/General Tasks
- Work with the accounting team to ensure that financial information is accurate and timely.
- Achieve budget objectives by scheduling expenditures and analyzing variances.
- Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
- Protect assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
- Lead the annual audit process, working with external auditors to ensure transparency and accountability.
- Prepare budgets by establishing schedules, collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data
- Protect operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Reporting & Budgeting
- Ensure the timely closing of the books on a monthly basis.
- Prepare and present the monthly financial statements.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget.
- Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions.
- Provide status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
- Implement and monitor cost-saving initiatives to improve profitability.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration (master's degree or CPA certification preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of all aspects of accounting processes including but not limited to AR, AP, Financial Reporting, Financial Analysis, Auditing, Costing, Pricing, Inventory, Insurance, Tax, and Payroll.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Proficient with accounting software packages.
- Advanced financial modeling experience.
- Financial management and variance analysis.
- Must be a team player.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
