The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, be highly organized with exceptional problem-solving skills, and have excellent leadership qualities.*Primary Responsibilities** Mandatory experience overseeing and managing AP/AR staff* Assist the CFO--supporting all aspects of accounting management and ad-hoc projects* Daily report on cash flow* Job costing* Enforce and establish financial controls on operations staff when prudent.* Seek conscientious cost controls by finding cost variances and best practices.* Backup the AR, AP, and Payroll administrators as needed* Support the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with legal and best practices.* Provide accounting and financial guidance to operations staff to improve business practices and profits.*Duties** Handle all G/L reconciliations and account clean-up (banks, prepaids, fixed assets, depreciation, accruals, commissions, intercompany etc.)* Prepare monthly financial statements for 4 operating companies, 2 shared service centers and 4 real estate holding entities* Post daily summary transactions into our G/L and reconcile multiple bank accounts daily* Prepare and file sales tax and other required government filings* Analyze job and project costing with managers (revenue recognition, matching principle, cost of sales accounting flows, job costing etc.)* Post daily transactions for our retail store, prepare bank activity report “DDR”* Assist in Month/Year end closing including all balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy* Preparation of monthly financial statements, annual budgets and forecasts for all business units* Calculation of monthly commission, all other accruals and prepaid expenses* Maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedules* Preparation of intercompany expense billings for allocation of shared costs* Assist in the preparation and audits of Liability and Workers Comp Insurance, Sales Tax and 401k* Work with outside accounting firm to prepare and maintain financial information to meet legal requirements.* Provide any other financial management, analysis or assistance as requested by CFO or owners.*Qualifications and Experience** BS in Accounting* 15 years' experience in the accounting field, with demonstrated management skills* Solid knowledge of GAAP* Minimum 3 years' experience as a controller for a $10 million or greater company* Knowledge of insurance, bank lending and current tax law* Advanced experience with Excel* Ability to function in a multitasking environment* Prepared or assisted in preparation of Budgets* Well organized and able to meet deadlines*Preferred Qualifications** Construction and job costing experience preferredJob Type: Full-timePay: Up to $160,000.00 per yearBenefits:* 401(k)* 401(k) matching* Dental insurance* Health insurance* Paid time off* Tuition reimbursement* Vision insuranceEducation:* Bachelor's (Preferred)Experience:* Accounting: 10 years (Required)* Controller: 5 years (Required)* GAAP: 3 years (Preferred)Work Location: In person
