Vertex Hospitality is seeking a Controller for our new Family Entertainment concept. They will play a critical role in managing the financial operations of a rapidly growing, multi-location FEC concept. This position requires a hands-on leader who can oversee the accounting function, ensure accurate financial reporting, and provide strategic financial guidance to support the company's growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and financial reporting.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Work closely with unit level shareholders to ensure proper upload of store financial data.
- Monitor cash flow and manage working capital to support the operational needs of the business.
- Collaborate with senior leadership team and external accounting support to develop and execute financial strategies that support the company's rapid expansion and long-term goals.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to the executive team to inform decision-making and drive business growth.
- Coordinate and manage external audits, ensuring timely and accurate submission of required documentation.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, including sales tax reporting and income tax filings.
- Oversee the recruitment, training, and performance management of accounting staff, ensuring the team has the skills and resources to support the company's growth.
- Implement systems and processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability within the accounting function.
- Evaluate and implement accounting software and technology solutions such as set up of chart of accounts that enhance financial reporting, data analysis, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure the integrity of financial data by maintaining robust internal controls and regularly reviewing accounting processes.
- Lead the integration of financial systems during the opening of new locations, ensuring seamless financial operations across all units.
- Prepare and present financial reports to the executive team, highlighting key metrics, trends, and potential risks.
- Develop and monitor KPIs to track the financial performance of each location and the overall business.
- Work closely with location stakeholders and operations team members on cost controls and prompt expense reconciliation.
Qualifications:
- Education:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA designation strongly preferred.
- Experience:7+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in a Controller or similar leadership role. Experience in the FEC or hospitality industry is highly desirable.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on mentoring and developing staff.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Bilingual Mandarin required.
