Part-Time Controller for Nonprofit Organizations

Role Overview

We seek a dedicated, personable Controller to guide our nonprofit clients. The role involves working with clients both virtually and on-site, interacting with various stakeholders including Boards and Finance Committees.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the outsourced Controller/CFO for multiple nonprofit clients.
  • Prepare financial reports for management and Boards.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to accounting, operations, and compliance policies.
  • Manage transactional activities including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and month-end close.
  • Conduct analysis, data visualization, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Oversee grant management, allocations, and funder reporting.
  • Prepare for and manage annual audits.
  • Provide client and staff training.
    • Qualifications
  • Passion for supporting nonprofit organizations.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5-7+ years of accounting experience.
  • Experience in remote work preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and familiarity with GL packages like QuickBooks.
  • Nonprofit or public accounting experience is a plus.
  • CPA certification is a plus.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
  • Must submit a customized cover letter.
