Growing food distribution company seeks Control Tower Supervisor for their busy climate controlled warehouse and distribution center. The Control Tower Supervisor will lead a high-visibility logistics command center responsible for monitoring and coordinating the movement of food products across the distribution network. This leader will ensure real-time visibility, proactive issue resolution, and seamless communication between transportation, warehouse, and retail partners with a focus on servicing grocery store clients efficiently and compliantly.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily control tower operations, including shipment tracking, exception handling, and escalation management
- Lead and mentor a team of control tower analysts and coordinators, setting priorities and performance goals
- Monitor inbound and outbound logistics to ensure timely delivery of perishable and non-perishable goods
- Collaborate with transportation, warehouse, and customer service teams to resolve disruptions and maintain service levels
- Analyze performance metrics (OTIF, fill rate, dwell time) and generate actionable reports for leadership
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, cold chain protocols, and customer SLAs
- Support seasonal surge planning, new lane implementations, and special projects
- Maintain data accuracy across WMS, TMS, and ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, DLx, Oracle)
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance visibility, reduce costs, and improve delivery reliability
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations, preferably in food distribution
- 1+ years in a supervisory or team leadership role
- Strong understanding of grocery retail logistics, cold chain management, and inventory flow
- Proficiency in WMS/TMS systems and Microsoft Excel; Power BI or Tableau a plus
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with cross-functional teams
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred
