Entity: Production & Operations Job Family Group: Engineering Group Job Description: The Control Systems Specialist (CSS) is a member of the CSS Team, within the Process Automation Group. The CSS main responsibility is to ensure the availability, reliability, and sustainability of distributed control systems equipment and infrastructure within the Whiting Refinery. This role is a primary resource for the Refinery's control systems technical support to ensure 24/7 availability . Key Accountabilities: Accountable for 24/7 technical expertise, assistance and direction for all hardware related to control systems. Accountable for keeping control systems equipment along with prolong availability activities such as preventive maintenance and upgrades to assure sustainability. Accountable for future equipment replacement plans and execution of upgrades and replacement. Accountable for all DCS systems and subsystem data backup management and scheduled software patches. Creation / implementation of performance improvement and cost savings ideas. Information sharing, working with other Whiting Refinery teams, process control group and I&E department. System Administration assistance and support. Lifecycle replacement equipment planning and installation Requirements: Minimum ASEET in Electrical Engineering Technology (EET), BSEET in Electrical Engineering Technology (EET) is desirable. Minimum 2 years' experience in supporting process related control systems in an industrial environment. Knowledge of windows-based systems (DeltaV, Honeywell, etc…) and networks with its associated switches, routers, and firewall is desirable. Ability to work independently and within a team. Basic understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, EtherNet/IP) and networking principles Demonstrates shared dedication to the success of the team and the wider organization. Over comes obstacles and adapts approach to achieve outstanding results. Good communication and interpersonal skills Experience with distributed control and associated systems such as Honeywell TDC/ TPS / Experion, Emerson DeltaV, etc. Understanding of following operating systems: Windows, and Windows server software Basic understanding of network hardware devices including switches, routers, firewalls, configuration and cabling. Experience with all Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Visio. Experience supporting VMWARE and Hyper-V virtualization technologies and infrastructure. Why join us!
