CITI INC. is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Control System Application Engineer to join our team in Charlotte, NC. This role involves designing, developing, maintaining, and implementing programmable logic controller (PLC) and HMI systems for various industrial automation and control applications. The engineer will travel to project sites across the Carolinas to support system deployment and maintenance, working on diverse projects and collaborating with different teams to deliver efficient automation solutions.

Responsibilities include:

  • PLC Programming: Develop and write PLC programs to control industrial machinery and processes, ensuring reliability and efficiency tailored to client needs.
  • System Integration: Integrate PLCs with HMIs, SCADA systems, and field devices for seamless automation control.
  • Documentation: Prepare detailed technical documentation, including submittals and user guides for clients and team members.
  • Testing & Validation: Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and system simulations to verify control logic and safety standards.
  • Commissioning: Travel to client sites for on-site system installation, configuration, testing, and startup.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve system issues during operation and maintenance.
  • Client Support: Provide ongoing support and system maintenance assistance to clients.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated on the latest PLC and automation technologies through training and self-education.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering, or 4+ years of relevant experience in PLC-driven process controls.
  • Proficiency in programming PLCs, with familiarity with Allen-Bradley 5000, 500, and Schneider systems preferred.
  • Understanding of industrial automation concepts, control systems, and instrumentation.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
  • Ability to meet project deadlines and organize project files effectively.
  • Willingness to travel locally for site work and emergencies.

Compensation & Benefits: $75,000 - $85,000 annually, commensurate with experience, including health insurance, 401(k), life insurance, paid time off, and vision insurance.

Physical Demands & Work Environment: Moderate physical activity including lifting up to 50 pounds, walking, standing, bending, crouching, climbing, and operating vehicles for site visits. Requires good hand/eye coordination, vision, speech, and hearing for testing, troubleshooting, and communication tasks.
