Role: Automation Engineer

Location: Athens / Atlanta, Georgia

Duration: 6 Months (Contract)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer with strong expertise in DeltaV DCS (Distributed Control Systems) to provide support during an upcoming plant shutdown. This role focuses on batch automation within an API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient) manufacturing environment, working with equipment such as reactors, centrifuges, and dryers

This is a fully onsite position in Georgia, requiring hands-on support for system configuration, troubleshooting, and real-time problem resolution.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide DeltaV programming, configuration, and troubleshooting for process automation systems.
• Implement and validate batch automation changes to support manufacturing operations.
• Perform software modifications to meet operational and compliance requirements
• Support plant shutdown activities, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Collaborate with process engineers, operations, and maintenance teams to deliver robust automation solutions.
• Ensure compliance with GMP and FDA regulations in pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience as an Automation Engineer.
• 3–5 years of direct experience with DeltaV (programming, configuration, troubleshooting, and batch automation).
• Strong knowledge of batch processes and ISA-88 standards
• Prior experience in API or pharmaceutical manufacturing
• Hands-on experience with automation support for reactors, centrifuges, and dryers
• Strong problem-solving skills in a live production setting.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated environment

• Experience with system upgrades or shutdown-related support
• Familiarity with validation and change control processes
