Kelly Engineering is seeking a Contracts Specialist for a temp-hire contract job opportunity at one of our Global Medical Device clients located in Irvine, CA.

Our Client is a global leader in the science of diagnosing and treating heart rhythm disorders. The company partners with clinicians to develop innovative technologies that improve the quality of care for arrhythmia patients worldwide.

As a Contracts Specialist, you will take a leading role in the drafting and finalization of business contracts and ancillary agreements.

  • Analyzes contracts to ensure compliance to company policy, government specifications, and other requirements
  • This individual will engage with the full spectrum of business departments to ensure the smooth, timely and successful execution of contract agreements
  • This individual will work closely with the Legal, Finance, Risk Management, etc., teams
  • Manage day-to-day contract review, drafting and negotiation of high-volume contracts, varying in complexity, subject matter, and size
  • Proactively identifies risks and opportunities within assigned contracts
  • Ensures assigned contracts comply with company terms & conditions, legal or governmental requirements, and any other relevant specifications
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external business partners to take contracts from inception to execution
  • Work proactively to improve processes and establish refinements that reduce cycle time, create savings and improve efficiency.
  • Assume responsibility for all aspects of legal documents and metrics tracking. Determine potential needs for contract amendments and manage the amendment lifecycle.
  • Exemplary customer (internal and external) focus with vision to drive solution

Key Responsibilities and required qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific or business discipline
  • A paralegal certificate or one in the process of earning is highly desired
  • Must have at least 5 years of experience with healthcare compliance
  • Integrity, critical thinking, and compliance
  • Must have negotiation and contract experience
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and experience working in virtual teams
  • Strong and proven negotiation and problem resolution skills.
  • Working knowledge of PCs (MS Office suite at a minimum) and database management
  • Must demonstrate innovative spirit, have strong interpersonal skills, and be able to manage a high volume of work.

DECISION-MAKING AND PROBLEM-SOLVING

  • Adhere to SOPs, ethics and departmental compliance as determined by leadership as well as operating companies, corporate, HCC and QA guidelines.
  • Ensure familiarity with departmental and corporate processes.
  • Able to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
