Contract Specialist (Oakland, CA)

LHH is teaming up with a public sector organization in Oakland, CA in search of a Contract Specialist to support procurement and contract administration functions across multiple departments.

This role offers the opportunity to lead complex procurement activities and contribute to impactful projects that improve operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, experienced in public sector procurement, and comfortable managing multiple contracts from solicitation to closeout. They should be confident in negotiating terms, guiding internal stakeholders, and maintaining accurate documentation. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead procurement activities for assigned departments.
• Prepare and issue solicitation packages for goods and services.
• Monitor contractor performance and manage contract closeout.
• Resolve contract-related disputes and maintain documentation.
• Provide guidance on procurement best practices and compliance.
• Facilitate meetings, develop vendor outreach plans, and review proposals.
• Conduct price and cost analyses and negotiate contracts.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, or related field (with emphasis in procurement).
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in procurement and contract administration.
• Bilingual skills (ASL, Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, or Spanish) are a plus.
• Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.

Job Type: Contract (2 months with possible extension)

Start Date: Immediate

Location: Fully on-site in Oakland, CA

Hours: 8 hours/day, with every other Friday off (unpaid)

Pay Rate: $49/hour
