Contract Manufacturing Manager

This role is responsible for overseeing relationships with contract manufacturers and co-packers, ensuring smooth production flow, timely deliveries, and compliance with international trade regulations. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and a knack for cross-functional coordination.

Key Responsibilities

Vendor and Contract Oversight

  • Negotiate and manage contracts with external manufacturing partners
  • Monitor vendor performance across quality, cost, and delivery metrics
  • Collaborate with internal teams to assess vendor capabilities and ensure alignment with business goals

Order Planning and PO Management

  • Calculate order volumes based on forecasts and inventory needs
  • Issue and track purchase orders to maintain optimal stock levels

Production and Logistics Coordination

  • Serve as the main liaison between internal teams and external manufacturers
  • Track production timelines and resolve any operational bottlenecks

Import/Export Compliance

  • Manage international shipments and ensure adherence to trade regulations
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders and customs brokers for timely delivery

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Align production plans with demand planning, sales, and supply chain teams
  • Report on performance metrics and identify areas for process improvement

Risk and Compliance Management

  • Ensure all partners meet food safety and regulatory standards
  • Develop contingency plans to mitigate supply chain risks

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or contract manufacturing—ideally in food, beverage, or CPG sectors
  • Strong financial acumen and experience in budgeting and cost analysis
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Sage X3), demand planning tools (e.g., Avercast), and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to travel and familiarity with global logistics and trade regulations
