Contract Manufacturing Manager
This role is responsible for overseeing relationships with contract manufacturers and co-packers, ensuring smooth production flow, timely deliveries, and compliance with international trade regulations. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and a knack for cross-functional coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Vendor and Contract Oversight
- Negotiate and manage contracts with external manufacturing partners
- Monitor vendor performance across quality, cost, and delivery metrics
- Collaborate with internal teams to assess vendor capabilities and ensure alignment with business goals
Order Planning and PO Management
- Calculate order volumes based on forecasts and inventory needs
- Issue and track purchase orders to maintain optimal stock levels
Production and Logistics Coordination
- Serve as the main liaison between internal teams and external manufacturers
- Track production timelines and resolve any operational bottlenecks
Import/Export Compliance
- Manage international shipments and ensure adherence to trade regulations
- Coordinate with freight forwarders and customs brokers for timely delivery
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Align production plans with demand planning, sales, and supply chain teams
- Report on performance metrics and identify areas for process improvement
Risk and Compliance Management
- Ensure all partners meet food safety and regulatory standards
- Develop contingency plans to mitigate supply chain risks

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or related field (advanced certifications like APICS or CPSM preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or contract manufacturing—ideally in food, beverage, or CPG sectors
- Strong financial acumen and experience in budgeting and cost analysis
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Sage X3), demand planning tools (e.g., Avercast), and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to travel and familiarity with global logistics and trade regulations
