Job Overview
The technical training curriculum developer is responsible for designing and developing comprehensive training programs that enhance the technical skills and knowledge of various learner types. This role involves collaborating with subject matter experts to identify training needs and create engaging, effective learning materials. The developer ensures that the curriculum is aligned with industry standards and organizational goals, utilizing various instructional methods and technologies to facilitate learning. Additionally, they continuously evaluate and update the training content to keep it relevant and impactful, ultimately aiming to improve employee performance and productivity.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Content Design: Develop comprehensive training programs that align with organizational goals and industry standards. (30%)
- Content Creation: Create engaging and effective technical training materials including digital, blended, and ILT content. (25%)
- Collaboration: Work closely with the instructor / developer, and other subject matter experts such as engineering, service, and management to ensure the content is accurate and relevant. (25%)
- Technology Integration: Utilize various technologies and platforms to deliver training, ensuring accessibility and engagement. (10%)
- Evaluation and Feedback: Implement methods to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and gather feedback for continuous improvement. (5%)
- Instructional Design: Apply instructional design principles to ensure the curriculum is effective and meets learning objectives. (5%)
Qualifications/Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in education, Instructional design, Instructional Technology, Curriculum and Instruction, or Engineering
- Experience: Minimum 3-10 years of experience in curriculum design, preferably related to technical training content in the fields of heavy equipment, mining, or agriculture.
- Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple curriculum developments. Strong self-starter requiring minimal direction.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in training and development area are a plus
