Triple West Medical is currently seeking an experienced Consultant in Paediatrics for a fixed-term contract (FTC) locum position of at least 12 months, with the possibility of a substantive role for the right candidate.
The Trust employs over 10,000 staff and offers a comprehensive range of acute and community services across multiple sites to over 1 million people. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent clinical skills and leadership abilities on the shop floor, as well as active involvement in teaching and supervising multidisciplinary staff.
The department features approximately 26 beds and a seven-bed Paediatric Assessment Unit (PAU) for triage, assessment, and treatment, with an annual throughput of around 4,000 children. The Children's Ward accommodates elective, emergency, and day-stay surgeries, along with medical emergency and day-stay admissions. Facilities include three six-bedded rooms, a four-cot nursery divided into cubicles, and side rooms. Several high-dependency beds are available for managing seriously ill children locally where possible.
The role requires an interest or experience in Cardiology, Gastroenterology, or General Paediatrics. Candidates without this experience will be supported to develop it, which will be included in their job plan. There are also opportunities to develop expertise in other areas aligned with clinical interests, including child safeguarding, with potential to become the designated doctor in the future.
Our client is willing to issue Certificates of Sponsorship to suitably qualified overseas doctors. GMC registration and relevant experience are essential for this position.
