Summary:
We're seeking an experienced Site Civil Superintendent to lead daily operations for a major site development project. This role is hands-on and field-based — you'll oversee subcontractors, ensure safety and quality standards are met, and keep the project on track from the ground up. Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you'll be the primary on-site leader driving work to completion safely, on time, and within budget.
Responsibilities:
Lead On-Site Operations
- Coordinate and direct subcontractors across earthwork, grading, drainage, paving, piling, and utilities installation.
- Manage day-to-day activities, equipment, and materials to maintain schedules and budget.
Ensure Safety & Compliance
- Conduct safety training and enforce OSHA standards (OSHA 30 required).
- Identify and resolve hazards promptly; investigate and document incidents.
Maintain Quality Standards
- Work with 3rd-party testing companies to ensure work meets plans, specifications, and regulations.
Track & Report Progress
- Maintain daily logs, manpower counts, and activity records.
- Provide regular updates to the Project Manager and attend management meetings.
Problem Solve in the Field
- Address schedule delays, equipment issues, and plan conflicts quickly and effectively.
Manage Documentation & Changes
- Review drawings, RFIs, change orders, and invoices for accuracy.
Requirements:
- 5–10 years in civil construction/site development (mass grading, drainage, paving, utilities, piling).
- Strong leadership skills with proven subcontractor management.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, contracts, and specifications.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
- OSHA 30 certification (required).
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred, but not required.
- Bonus: Structural concrete/steel construction experience.
