Construction Safety Specialist - Motion Recruitment : Job Details

Our client, an electric vehicle manufacturer, is actively looking for a Construction Safety Specialist to join their team in Normal, IL! This role is fully onsite so local candidates are required. This role has 2 shift options: Sunday-Wednesday OR Wednesday-Saturday from 6AM-4:30PM or 7AM-5:30PM.

***This is an 8 month initial contract with the opportunity to extend or convert***

This Construction Safety Specialist will perform construction safety related duties on projects for new manufacturing facilities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance for the safety of site workers and general public
• Duties as required by 1926 OSHA Standards for Construction
• Develop safety kick-off presentations and conduct on-site orientations and pre-shift meetings
• Conduct daily site safety inspections, safety assessments and safety audits
• Investigate incidents and complete associated paperwork
• Conduct risk assessments
• Make recommendations concerning the modification, improvement, or removal of any company equipment, facilities, or machinery that is hazardous to employee safety or health
• Compile daily, weekly, and monthly reports as requested
• Serve as company liaison with overseeing municipalities, OSHA, Insurance carriers and other regulatory agencies
• Maintain all safety related documentation

Required Skills & Experience

• Degree preferred but not required, HS diploma required
• 3+ years of experience working in an Environmental Health & Safety function, ideally within a manufacturing or construction environment
• Experience conducting site safety inspections and performing safety assessments
• Strong communication & presentation skills
