Construction Project Superintendent Job Description:
Masis Professoinal Group has an immediate need for a Construction Project Superintendent for a very well established and highly reputable construction firm in the Nashville, TN area on a full-time direct hire basis. To be considered you must have experience as the lead on construction projects within the commercial or light industrial space.
Construction Project Superintendent Responsibilities:
- Define project-specific goals and schedules in alignment with client objectives.
- Provide input during design phases, identifying inefficiencies and recommending value-engineering alternatives.
- Establish project success criteria and ensure alignment with client expectations.
- Coordinate daily activities across multiple trades and subcontractors.
- Ensure productivity, quality control, and contract compliance on-site.
- Monitor project budgets, schedules, and costs; update weekly in collaboration with the Project Manager.
- Assist with estimating as needed and evaluate field change orders before escalation.
- Submit draft RFIs and support the development of project documentation.
- Lead or co-lead weekly progress meetings with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
- Maintain proactive communication with all stakeholders and address issues promptly to prevent budget or timeline overruns.
- Ensure job site safety and compliance with OSHA regulations; correct identified hazards.
- Track and submit labor hours weekly to HR/Payroll.
- Mentor field staff and provide performance feedback to VP of Field Operations.
- Attend client and coordination meetings as needed.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by the supervisor.
Construction Project Superintendent Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of commercial construction experience, including 5 years in a supervisory role (Project Engineer or Assistant Superintendent).
- Proven leadership on projects valued at $5 million or more.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and structural systems.
- Excellent problem-solving, scheduling, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting construction documents and performing material takeoffs.
- Effective communication and leadership skills with a strong client-focused approach.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, and Procore.
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
- Current OSHA 10-Hour Construction and CPR/First Aid certifications.
- Willingness to complete Tennessee Drug-Free Workplace Supervisor Training within 6 months.
Work Schedule & Availability
- Monday–Friday, typically 6:30 AM–4:00 PM (8–9 hours/day).
- Occasional weekends as required by project demands.
- 24/7 on-call availability for project emergencies.
