The OpportunityWe're looking for a driven and experienced Construction Project Manager to take the lead on high-impact NYCHA rehabilitation and modernization projects across the five boroughs. This role is ideal for a boots-on-the-ground leader with deep knowledge of public agency compliance, multi-trade coordination, and a results-oriented approach to occupied and unoccupied residential work. Projects typically range from $20M to $200M and require sharp execution from preconstruction through closeout.
You'll join a reputable general contractor with a strong pipeline of public sector work, where your leadership will directly improve housing infrastructure for thousands of New Yorkers.
What You'll DoLead all phases of NYCHA and public housing construction-from procurement and scheduling to field oversight and turnover
Serve as the primary point of contact for NYCHA, HPD, DOB, subcontractors, and design teams
Manage project delivery in strict accordance with public agency standards, safety protocols, and Davis-Bacon compliance
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, submittal logs, RFIs, budgets, and change order documentation
Oversee site operations in partnership with field teams and superintendents; conduct regular site walks to monitor progress, quality, and safety
Facilitate all required permits, inspections, and compliance documentation for DOB and agency sign-offs
Lead project meetings, coordinate with stakeholders, and generate detailed progress reports
Supervise and mentor APMs and assistant staff, fostering a collaborative and accountable project culture
Proactively identify risks and resolve field challenges to maintain schedule and budget integrity
Drive closeout process, ensuring all punch list items, warranties, and turnover packages are completed with precision
5+ years of experience managing public-sector construction projects in NYC, preferably with NYCHA, HPD, or DASNY
Demonstrated ability to deliver multi-million-dollar rehab or ground-up projects in both occupied and vacant NYCHA properties
Strong familiarity with NYCHA workflows, Section 3 hiring goals, certified payroll, and Davis-Bacon reporting
Proven track record overseeing multiple trades and managing site logistics on urban, unionized projects
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture-or equivalent field experience
Proficiency with construction platforms such as Procore, MS Project, or Primavera
OSHA 30 certification required; Site Safety Training (SST) and scaffold certifications a plus
Excellent communication, organization, and conflict resolution skills
Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred but not required
