Continental Painting and Decorating, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team of professionals in Chicago. The project manager role is critical to the viability of Continental Painting because this person ensures the profitability of the job and the satisfaction of the customer. The ideal candidate will have experience in a self-performing trade. A construction management background would be a good fit for this position, which requires superior interpersonal, project management and organizational skills. Project managers represent and uphold the reputation of Continental Painting as key members of the organization.
The job responsibilities include:
Estimating
- Responsible for developing estimates
- Responsible for managing scope reviews
Project Management
- Responsible for understanding and reviewing construction contracts
- Responsible for managing all aspects of the project from job set-up through job close-out
- Responsible for performing problem resolution for technical and non-technical issues, and troubleshooting problem areas in projects
- Responsible for managing change orders and additional work orders
- Must understand job cost accounting
- Responsible for ensuring client satisfaction
Business Development
- Responsible for maintaining and expanding existing client relationships
Experience Requirements:
- College degree in Construction Management, or related field
- At least 5 years of experience in the Construction Industry with commensurate knowledge of the construction process
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings
