About the Company

The Construction Project Manager (“PM”) will work under the direct supervision of the Director of Construction and or Senior Project Manager and is responsible for delegating tasks to subcontractors to work on certain construction projects. Additionally, the Construction Project Manager will work with clients to understand their construction goals and needs, build a schedule for their crew to follow, and oversee the entire construction process to ensure everything runs smoothly for the project to be successful. The Construction Project Managers' role is crucial to the company's success, as they ensure operations will be running smoothly and effectively to deliver maximum value to the organization.

About the Role

The Construction Project Manager will oversee various aspects of construction projects, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Manage pre-construction activities (Estimating, Operations Plan, Scheduling) to minimize risk for new projects.
  • Responsible for bidding, scope review, and awards of subcontracts.
  • Review subcontracts, Purchase Orders and change orders to assure accuracy.
  • Applying knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, estimating, and engineering principles and techniques, as well as accounting principles, construction methods and materials, their characteristics, installation procedures, and tolerances.
  • Read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  • Lead the change order process (subcontractors and owners).
  • Perform all required QA/QC duties and responsibilities.
  • Manage and develop staff as assigned, including providing input on performance evaluations.
  • Participate in the development of schedule and sequencing of work.
  • Ensure trade contractors have the latest schedule in accordance with the contract.
  • Review, validate and manage the project financials.
  • Work with the Superintendent and Safety Manager on implementing the safety program.
  • Work with Accounting to initiate the Pay Application process and follow up to ensure payment is received in a timely manner.
  • Always ensure strict adherence to RJB Code of Conduct, ethics, and compliance requirements.
  • Manage closeout process.
  • Establish, update, and communicate the master project schedule and manage its implementation.

  • Communicate progress of project and budget through regularly scheduled WIP meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

To successfully perform this position a bachelor's degree in construction science, construction management, engineering, or architecture is preferred. Work experience can be substituted for a degree if you have relevant experience.

Preferred Skills

To successfully perform this position, you should have a minimum of 5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.

Must have a valid Driver's License without violations.
