Our Client, one of Wisconsin's top general contractors, construction managers, and design-build firms, is seeking a Construction Project Manager for their Pewaukee, WI location.
The Commercial Construction Project Manager will lead challenging and rewarding ground-up commercial construction projects, overseeing all aspects of construction, scheduling, reporting, and budgeting. This role involves managing multiple commercial projects with budgets exceeding $35 million and requires close collaboration with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and owners to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
This position is ideal for candidates with at least 5 years of project management experience in commercial general contracting or construction management, including direct involvement in projects for a self-performing company.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, first shift hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all phases of construction projects to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Act as the primary point of contact for architects, engineers, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain project schedules using Microsoft Project or similar software.
- Monitor budgets, track expenditures, and provide accurate financial forecasts.
- Prepare and distribute reports on project progress, financial status, and potential risks.
- Enforce quality control measures to maintain compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
- Identify potential project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Lead and support project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Maintain strong client relationships by understanding project requirements and addressing concerns promptly.
- Ensure accurate and organized project documentation.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years project management experience with a general contractor, design-builder, or construction manager.
- Experience managing budgets up to $30 million for commercial construction projects, including ground-up new construction.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients, subcontractors, and project teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field.
- Must have experience working on multi-story construction projects for a self-performing company.
- Proficient in MS Office, Microsoft Project, and Viewpoint.
