Construction Materials & Special Inspection Project Manager - Terracon Consultants : Job Details

This position offers opportunities to work on high-profile vertical high-rise, renewable energy, large commercial, data center, and infrastructure construction projects.

As a Construction Materials and Special Inspection Project Manager, you will manage all aspects of a Construction Materials and Inspection project to ensure safe completion on time, within scope, and within budget. Responsibilities include completing projects as per contracted scope, monitoring progress, communicating with clients, and supervising staff including training, development, and performance reviews.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

Manage all special inspection and material testing aspects of construction projects.

Collaborate with clients or Terracon national account managers to define project scope, schedule, and budgets.

Design, communicate, and implement project plans.

Lead safety efforts, including preparation and compliance with safety plans.

Resolve operational problems to minimize delays.

Identify and gather resources for project completion, including reports, work specifications, schedules, budgets, and equipment.

Partner with other departments to secure specialized resources.

Perform marketing outreach and client engagement to secure new contracts.

Conduct meetings and review reports to communicate project status and test results.

Set priorities, assign tasks, and coordinate staff to meet targets.

Coordinate with project reviewers for oversight and review processes.

Manage financial aspects, including invoicing and change orders.

Understand and mitigate project-related risks following company policies.

Plan and execute employee training and development.

Lead safety initiatives, promote safe work environments, and model safety practices.

Monitor and improve project quality standards.

Requirements:

• 7 years' related experience or Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, or related technical discipline, with at least 3 years' relevant experience.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
• Preferred: 2 years' experience in construction quality control.

Preferred Certifications:

• Project Management Professional (PMP)
• Professional Engineer (PE)
• Certifications in PTI, ICC, ACI, CWI, WABO, OBOA, NICET
