Title: Building Construction Coordinator
Location: Delta, UT
Duration: Direct Hire
Salary: $140,000 - $160,000
Per Diem: Client would like to discuss this, but it is a very good per diem.
Work Schedule: start on 40s, build to 5-10s
Trips Home: Paid stipend one weekend a month, Every 3 months 1 week off.
Our client is a leading EPC contractor with expertise in the installation of utility-scale and industrial process infrastructure. Their project portfolio includes substations, power generation facilities, industrial process plants, and renewable fuel developments.
The Building Construction Coordinator will provide on-site oversight, coordination, management, and technical direction for the construction of an industrial facility that will house electrical equipment, support systems, switchgear, and administrative/maintenance spaces. This individual will work closely with the Site Construction Manager, discipline supervisors, and site safety personnel to ensure the facility is built safely, on time, on budget, and according to specifications. The buildings are being designed in-house and will be constructed by a subcontracted general contractor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the industrial building subcontractor from project initiation through completion.
- Coordinate building contractor activities with other concurrent site work.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of all building-related trades (civil, structural, mechanical, plumbing, electrical).
- Collaborate with discipline supervisors and the Site Construction Manager to ensure subcontractor performance aligns with contract terms, budget, schedule, quality, and environmental requirements.
- Track and control project costs and changes; ensure proper documentation to protect stakeholder interests.
- Maintain project schedule, adjust as needed, and meet key milestones.
- Report progress regularly to the Site Construction Manager and Project Manager.
- Provide daily direction to subcontractors and oversee their performance.
- Support and enforce project safety practices in coordination with the Site Safety Manager.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and quality standards.
- Assist subcontractors with scope understanding and issue resolution.
- Coordinate with all project stakeholders including the owner, engineers, contractors, QA/QC, and Safety.
- Conduct daily coordination meetings with subcontractors.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory standards during construction.
- Collaborate with the start-up team during commissioning and facility testing.
- Proactively identify and resolve potential issues.
- Lead the closeout process to ensure timely and successful project completion.
Required Experience and Education:
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing building trades for large commercial or industrial facilities, preferably in an EPC environment.
- 10–15 years of overall experience in industrial building construction with demonstrated success on complex projects.
- Experience with high-voltage electrical infrastructure is preferred but not mandatory.
- Comprehensive understanding of all building disciplines (civil, structural, architectural, MEP), labor agreements, engineering, and safety standards.
- Proficient in project scheduling, cost controls, and progress reporting.
- Strong knowledge of contract and subcontract administration.
- Familiarity with applicable building codes (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) and permitting processes.
