Join Our Team as a Construction Estimator!
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to provide accurate and timely cost estimates for our construction projects and facility service requests. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the planning, direction, and supervision of construction cost estimation, helping to ensure effective budgeting, forecasting, and execution of facility-related projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, prepare, and present comprehensive cost estimates for construction and facility service projects.
- Support the Facility Service Request (FSR) process with timely estimates and cost forecasting.
- Analyze project drawings, specifications, proposals, and documentation for accurate time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to align estimates with project requirements.
- Conduct site visits to gather relevant information for precise estimating.
- Monitor ongoing projects, ensuring alignment with estimates and updating as necessary.
- Assist in value engineering while identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or compliance.
- Maintain and update historical cost databases and estimation tools.
- Contribute to budgeting, planning, and scheduling efforts of projects.
- Ensure adherence to applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
Basic Qualifications:
- Must possess TS/SCI w/ Poly Clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, along with 4-8 years of relevant experience. Alternatively, additional years of experience may substitute for the degree.
- Or a Master's degree in a related field with 2-6 years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience in planning, organizing, and supervising construction projects and facility maintenance.
- Strong proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD for interpreting and developing construction drawings.
- Proven project management and construction management skills.
- Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and quality control standards.
- Effective budgeting and cost forecasting abilities.
- Experience in conducting construction inspections and risk mitigation.
- Ability to lead and mentor junior staff and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams.
- Outstanding communication skills for collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with technical specifications development processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certifications such as PMP, CCM, or PE.
- Advanced contract management and negotiation experience.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple contractors on complex, high-value projects.
- Experience in strategic planning aligning projects with organizational goals.
- Strong knowledge of workforce planning throughout project lifecycles.
- Background in safety assurance and environmental standards implementation.
- Familiarity with tools like MS Project or Primavera P6.
- Experience in government, institutional, or large commercial environments with complex stakeholder requirements.
Location: The position may entail travel for site assessments and project meetings. Specific addresses will be provided as necessary.
Pay Range: $89,700.00 - $162,150.00, based on experience and qualifications.
