Job Summary:

Client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for construction projects, analyzing project requirements, and coordinating with engineers, architects, contractors, and suppliers. Your work will play a critical role in securing profitable projects and ensuring effective cost control throughout the build process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze blueprints, drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients to understand project scope and requirements.
  • Prepare and present cost estimates or budgets for construction projects.
  • Solicit and review bids from subcontractors and vendors.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities, potential risks, and alternatives.
  • Maintain cost databases and update records of historical cost data.
  • Assist in developing project schedules in coordination with project managers.
  • Attend site visits and pre-bid meetings as necessary.
  • Ensure estimates comply with industry standards, codes, and client expectations.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years experience as a Construction Estimator or similar role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and pricing.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam, ProEst, or similar).
  • Excellent analytical, math, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in [residential/commercial/industrial] construction estimating.
  • Familiarity with local building codes and regulations.
  • Knowledge of job cost tracking software or ERP systems.
