The Configuration Analyst will be responsible for analyzing complex business process problems that could be resolved by configuring our system. This unique position will require you to be a strong communicator, as the role will collaborate with multiple departments and internal stakeholders to gather requirements and build components in our system. This position will also be testing new builds and making process improvements as necessary. Additionally, this role will:

  • Analyzes business and user needs, documenting requirements for configuration.
  • Assist in configuration of company applications based on business requirements.
  • Plan and execute assigned configuration tasks within deadlines.
  • Participates in configuration activities in a variety of tool sets for various business functions including but not limited to Accounts, Benefits, Billing, Provider, and Claims.
  • Tests end user processes resulting from configuration.
  • Learn configuration tools as they are introduced to the configuration team - Examples may include Payor, reporting tools, document management systems, portals, phone systems, etc.
  • Updates the system yearly to stay in compliance with American Dental Association Current Dental Terminology (CDT), Delta Dental Plans Association and state regulations, in regard to dental codes, fees, pricing rules, and processing guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain configuration policies and procedures.
  • Assists in documenting business reasons for approaches to configuration.
  • Assists with the creation of materials for end user training.
  • Interacts with business users, IT staff, and vendors both internal and external, to supply information.
  • Analyze and resolve configuration issues in a timely manner.
Specific requirements for this role include:
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology or related field and 3-5 years of relevant work experience required. Equivalent combination of education and work experience could be considered in lieu of bachelor's degree.
  • Prior experience working with EDI and/or healthcare claims/billing software
  • Insurance industry experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge of SQL
  • In-depth familiarity with benefits plans and dental processing system set-up
  • Ability to analyze data and identify trends to see where improvements can be made
  • Experience diagnosing, reporting, tracking and resolving quality issues
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with a high level of autonomy
  • Ability to learn new configuration skills quickly and retain knowledge for addressing unique challenges to apply for future needs
  • Previous experience writing documentation and procedural materials for multiple audiences
