Byrne & Jones Construction is seeking a skilled and motivated Concrete Foundation Foreman to join our growing Sports Division. This position offers a unique opportunity for experienced professionals to apply their existing knowledge while receiving specialized, on-the-job training to tackle complex and exciting sports construction projects across the region. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on expertise in concrete foundations, strong leadership abilities, and a desire to grow within a dynamic team. This role requires the ability to travel weekly, including regular multi-day overnight stays, to support projects located throughout the Midwest and beyond. Travel expenses are covered by the company. Key Responsibilities: • Lead and manage large crews on high-value, schedule-driven construction projects. • Read and interpret project plans and specifications to ensure accurate construction practices, working with both internal teams and subcontractors to resolve any questions or concerns. • Travel weekly with overnight stays to project sites as required by the project schedule. • Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors and other external and internal contacts to meet construction timelines and quality standards. • Manage equipment, materials, and field crews to execute work efficiently and safely. • Interpret and enforce project specifications, safety protocols, and quality control requirements. • Participate in on-the-job training and development to enhance skills related to sports-specific construction practices. • Communicate clearly and consistently with team members and leadership to ensure alignment with project goals. • Complete daily reporting, timekeeping, and documentation required for complex job sites as needed. • Model and enforce a culture of safety on the job site. Qualifications: • Minimum 5+ years of experience in concrete construction, with a focus on foundations or other applicable construction fields. • Ability to travel extensively with multi-day overnight stays required. • Proven experience supervising a crew in a construction environment, adhering to project deadlines and quality standards. • Willingness to learn and apply new methods specific to athletic facility construction. • Must have an active and valid driver's license with the ability to travel frequently to various job sites. • Must pass pre-employment screenings and background checks including MVR. Skills and Abilities: • Strong leadership and team management capabilities. • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift heavy materials as needed. • Strong understanding of general construction practices, including site layout, structural components, and coordination of trades and materials. • Ability to read, interpret, and implement construction drawings and specifications. • Effective communicator with a proactive and dependable work ethic. • Passion for high-quality construction and pride in craftsmanship. • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues early and implement corrective action.
