Location: U.S. Coast Guard Aviation Logistics Center (ALC) – Information Systems Division (ISD)Clearance Requirement: Must be able to obtain a favorable Tier 1 background investigation (for unclassified systems)

Position Overview:

Team Ignite is seeking a qualified Computer Systems Analyst (Journeyman) to support the U.S. Coast Guard ISD mission by participating in the full lifecycle of software and system engineering activities. This role is responsible for systems analysis, design, modeling, integration, and testing of enterprise applications and operating systems in support of logistics and operational mission requirements. The Analyst will help optimize system performance and resolve hardware/software compatibility issues while also serving as a liaison between stakeholders and the development team to ensure requirements are clearly defined and delivered effectively.

This position will work across Agile teams and cross-functional project efforts to ensure system solutions are technically sound, maintainable, and mission-aligned.

Key Responsibilities:

Participate in all phases of software and systems engineering including requirements gathering, design, modeling, development, integration, and testing.

Assess system architecture and identify hardware/software limitations or performance bottlenecks.

Develop and define system specifications, architecture patterns, and software standards.

Analyze user requirements and translate them into functional and technical system designs.

Perform database analysis, systems modeling, data integration, and application implementation.

Conduct system and integration testing, validate system behavior, and support deployment efforts.

Investigate and troubleshoot software and systems issues; recommend and implement corrective actions.

Maintain and update system and user documentation including user manuals, SOPs, and technical diagrams.

Research and evaluate emerging technologies for potential impact and application to USCG systems.

Collaborate with clients to understand business needs, define solutions, and deliver technical briefings.

May serve as task lead or team lead, mentoring junior analysts, managing technical tasks, or leading small-scale project teams.

This position is pending contract award.

Job Requirements

Tools and Environments:

Enterprise architecture tools and modeling environments

Relational database systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle)

Agile project tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence)

Development and integration environments (IDEs, version control, etc.)

Minimum Education and Qualifications – Journeyman Level

Education:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Systems Engineering, or Electrical Engineering Technology.

Experience:

Minimum five (5) years of experience in the design, writing, and testing of computer programs or database development.

Experience with systems engineering principles, application lifecycle development, programming, or systems analysis across multi-phase IT projects.

Additional Requirements:

Strong analytical skills and experience translating business requirements into system specifications.

Effective communicator with the ability to interact with both technical teams and end users.

Ability to work collaboratively in an Agile environment.

Experience with DoD, DHS, or USCG IT systems is a plus.
