Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Information Technology Director. Examples of Duties
Provides responsive customer service while serving as a primary point of contact for the Information Technology (IT) department for internal and external inquires. Responds to telephone calls, emails, and personnel requests for technical support; identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems; ensures timely accurate resolutions and follow-up. Diagnoses technical problems to determine the level of technical assistance required; if unable to resolve problems, transfer tickets in accordance with escalation procedure. Installs and maintains hardware and software products on workstations. Installs, maintains, repairs, and troubleshoots telephones, computer hardware, and peripherals. Maintains accurate records for work completed and documents the process; reports activities to IT Director. Installs and maintains an accurate inventory of software and computer equipment for the entire organization. Provides technical assistance to all Departments in the procurement, installation, and operation of computer equipment suitable for their needs; replaces, repairs, rebuilds PCs, laptops, and computer hardware. Organizes, schedules, prioritizes, and performs work; complete assignments accurately and within deadlines with minimum supervision; attends conferences, and training and travels to remote sites. Works on special projects as assigned to assist various offices, departments, and committees. Trains new employees on the use of computer and communications systems; serves as a resource for users; maintains instruction sheets on departmental procedures; assists the IT Director with overall administration and maintenance of the County's information systems. Essential Qualifications Associates/Technical degree in information technology, programming, networking, computer science, or related field and moderate experience in network infrastructure, information technology troubleshooting, helpdesk customer service, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid driver's license in the State of Wisconsin.
