Job Title: School Nutrition Computer Clerk

Wage/Hour Status: Hourly

Reports to: Assistant Director

Pay Grade: 4

Dept. /School: School Nutrition

Days: 227

Primary Purpose: The goal of the School Nutrition Computer Clerk is to perform as an integral part of the School Nutrition Office/Warehouse staff by maintaining and improving the necessary flow of information among and between all Departmental personnel and other required contacts. Must have an interest in learning the SN department's software, hardware, and networking systems. Perform clerical duties that include but are not limited to HR, Payroll, Invoices, Accounts Payable, Invoices, Buy American, Procurement, Eligibility, Verification, and Meal Applications. Each computer clerk is responsible for learning the roles of others to fill in as needed.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

* High School Diploma or GED from an accredited HS or GED Program preferred

* Working towards TASN Level V Certification

Special Knowledge Skills:

* Ability to work well with people

* Strong organizational skills

* Strong computer and phone skills

Experience: 1-3 years of previous office experience is preferred.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

* Welcome visitors and arrange for their needs;

* Place, receive, and direct phone calls and record messages for the office staff;

* Prepare memos, forms, and correspondence and distribute same;

* Acquire, maintain, and distribute office supplies for the central food service office and cafeterias;

* Assemble, verify, and total accounts payable using current software;

* Maintain and verify deposit records using current software;

* Assemble, verify, process, and enter school grocery orders, invoices, and other data into the current software program;

* Work closely with various District departments as needed;

* Work closely with office staff, including Director, Supervisors, and Warehouse Supervisor in developing and maintaining efficient departmental and office procedures;

* Assemble, verify, and recapitulate report forms and payroll using current software;

* Assist with the procurement process, including but not limited to soliciting quotes, entering requisitions, and contract management.

* Assist with the Buy American provision procedures.

* Assist with the accounts payable/receivable process.

* Assemble, verify, and enter free and reduced-price meal applications using current software.

* Coordinate the meal application process to comply with all local, state, and federal regulations.

* Communicate free and reduced-price lunch data and information to campus principals and staff, parents, and cafeteria personnel as necessary and permitted.

* Produce and assemble information and data as needed for various records and reports.

* Maintain all files and records in accordance with USDA, TDA, and ECISD rules and regulations.

* Perform other duties as instructed by the Assistant Director and the Director.
