Job Title: Computer and Information Systems Analyst - Journeyman

Position Summary
The Computer and Information Systems Analyst, Journeyman will support the Systems Engineering Department (SED) at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD. The program provides systems engineering support for weapons systems on various platforms, including technical research and development, analysis, documentation, and evaluation of technical performance, mission suitability, and acquisition risks throughout the full lifecycle of a program.
Essential Functions
- Consult with managers to determine the role of IT systems in the organization.
- Research technologies to assess potential efficiency improvements.
- Analyze costs and benefits of IT systems and upgrades to aid decision-making.
- Devise enhancements for existing computer systems.
- Design new systems by configuring hardware and software.
- Oversee installation, configuration, and customization of new systems.
- Test systems to ensure proper functionality.
- Write manuals and train end-users.
- Collect information for analysis and evaluation, perform system design reviews, and prepare documentation.
- Conduct research on system upgrades, assessing feasibility, cost, time, and compatibility.
- Prepare reports, studies, and deliver presentations.
- Address complex network, security, and planning issues.
- Work with mid-sized client-server systems, including analysis, software design, development, and database administration.
- Apply quality assurance, verification, and validation techniques.
- Work independently and in teams on data research and analytical methodologies.
- Understand system acquisition practices for designing, developing, integrating, testing, and manufacturing major systems.
- Assist senior staff and perform functional duties under supervision.
- Manage review, adjudication, and staffing of technical documentation and report status to leadership.
- Develop and implement tools for requirements management, traceability, configuration, risk, and data management.
- Assist in resolving technical problems.

Minimum Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical or scientific field from an accredited institution.
- At least three years of related work experience.
- Active DoD Secret Clearance or higher.
Travel
- Travel within the U.S. and abroad, including remote locations, may be required.
Physical Requirements
- Use of standard office equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and manual tasks.
