Summary The Compliance Specialist is responsible for providing trade compliance support, identifying risk for manager review, support sales representatives with preparation of import/export documents. What You'll Do
  • Identify import/export risk for manager review.
  • Prepare export documents including commercial invoice, packing slip, shipper's letter of instruction (SLI) to ensure compliance of assigned metal products via the Export Module.
  • Request trial export quotes from freight forwarders and provide internal freight estimates balancing cost profit requirements.
  • Maintain tracking sheet for trial export shipments.
  • Request inbound and outbound quotes, approve and audit freight bills related to trade logistics.
  • Work closely with Freight Forwarders. Monitor and evaluate performance.
  • Audit relevant import and export documents for manager corrections.
  • Prepare cargo insurance when applicable.
  • Prepare Canadian Customs Invoices for assigned metal products.
  • Track imports from Canada for assigned metal products including flagged reconciled entries.
  • Maintain recordkeeping for import/export files, electronic and hard copy.
What You Need
  • Bachelors Degree in Business, International Trade or related field, or combination Associates Degree and relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of International trade terms.
  • Experience with IMDS a plus
  • Familiar with Integration Point Global Trade Management Software.
  • Self-starter and highly organized.
  • Aware of cargo insurance debit note creation.
  • Microsoft Office, strong Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
