Job Description :

Seeking a diligent Compliance Officer in the vibrant healthcare industry, based in New York City. This pivotal role entails ensuring regulatory adherence and fostering a culture of compliance within a reputable behavioral health and substance abuse outpatient facility.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily compliance programs/activities.
  • Conduct audits and monitor activities according to OASAS compliance plans; prepare summary reports for leadership.
  • Investigate allegations of fraud, waste, abuse, and privacy violations.
  • collaborate with leadership to develop, review, and revise compliance policies and procedures.
  • Ensure staff awareness and compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with clinical operations to implement corrective actions and controls.
  • Review data for patterns and trends indicating compliance concerns; prepare reports and provide recommendations.
  • Analyze operational and financial data to develop process improvement recommendations.
  • Assist with responses to external requests, including government audits and record requests.
  • Communicate with state and federal regulators, seeking guidance and implemented updates.
  • Foster an environment encouraging the reporting of compliance concerns.
  • Stay updated on compliance and privacy laws, regulations, and trends; serve as a resource to staff.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Bachelor's degree required; Masters preferred. Compliance certification is a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in HR as a Compliance Coordinator or Officer in a healthcare organization.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate.
  • Act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
