Salary: $20.00 Hourly Location : Anne Arundel County, MD Job Type: Contract Job Number: CSW91525 Department: Chief Administrative Office Opening Date: 09/15/2025 Closing Date: 9/29/2025 11:59 PM Eastern Position Description As part of the Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) under the Office of the County Executive, the Community Support Worker is a public-facing role that represents the County Executive and the Administration. This position involves conducting key intake assessments, screenings, referrals, and providing comprehensive case management support as part of the County's Family Protection Initiative. The Community Support Worker will work closely with residents, colleagues, and external partners to create service plans tailored to individual and family needs. They are expected to deliver strengths-based, client-centered, and trauma-informed case management. Examples of Duties and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Conduct intake assessments, track outcomes, and maintain confidentiality.
- Develop an individualized family wellness service plan. Assess progress and work with residents to identify new needs and necessary actions.
- Conduct screenings as needed and assist residents in navigating healthcare, shelter, and social service systems.
- Provide referrals to other services and connect residents to the necessary resources.
- Conduct community outreach and maintain a strong network of service providers to meet resident needs.
- Offer residents extended orientation on topics such as transportation, shelter, healthcare, and other social service systems at the local level.
- Respond to client crises with guidance from a supervisor as needed.
- May train and lead volunteers and interns.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
NOTE: This is a twenty (20) hour per week contractual position. NOTE: This position requires a thorough background check. Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in social work, public health, or a related field is preferred. Relevant work experience can serve as a substitute. NOTE: Accredited University or College is the recognition from an accrediting agency that an institution maintains a certain level of educational standards. The U.S. Department of Education maintains a database of accrediting agencies it recognizes for schools within the United States. For a University or College outside the United States, the applicant must provide documentation of accreditation and educational equivalency, which can be accomplished through a credential evaluation service. - Minimum of 1-2 years of case management experience with vulnerable communities or similar populations.

- Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills, combined with the proven ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
- Demonstrated a positive attitude, empathy, and ability to manage emotionally charged situations.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in work output.
- Bilingual skills are preferred.
Working Environment:
- Fast-paced office environment includes a standard office setting, remote work, and 'field' time within the service delivery area to perform the responsibilities outlined above.
- As a key member of a small team, the role may involve taking on extra responsibilities as needed.
