Job Summary: The Community Support Specialist provides direct care to adults with developmental disabilities, supporting their personal goals while respecting their rights and choices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in and implement goals from PCP meetings
- Document participant activities and progress
- Create engaging learning environments with various activities
- Communicate effectively with participants, families, and team members
- Assist persons with disabilities personally and promote communication
- Encourage health, wellness, and community engagement
- Maintain program areas and vehicles
- Transport participants safely in agency vehicles
- Administer medication as required, following protocols
- Pass MTTP tests and recertify as CMT if applicable
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with persons with severe disabilities
- Certified Nursing Assistant preferred
Skills and Competencies:
- Problem-solving and diversity awareness
- Valid driver's license and good driving record
