Job Description
The Community Director of Operations (CDO) ensures efficient and effective site-level operations, including fiscal management, compliance with regulations, and the safety and well-being of students, staff, and families. The CDO oversees campus support services such as transportation, IT, administration, student records, custodial services, and facilities, enabling School Directors and staff to focus on teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage campus operations staff to ensure clean, organized, and compliant properties.
- Coordinate with regional CDOs on priorities and support systems.
- Foster community collaborations with organizations like counseling services and police.
- Oversee campus technical support and collaborate on technology enhancements.
- Ensure staff have necessary technology access and website accuracy.
- Coordinate with Transportation Director on student transportation safety.
- Manage safety and security systems, emergency protocols, and safety drills.
Facilities & Maintenance
- Manage custodial and maintenance teams to ensure safe, well-equipped facilities.
- Maintain school materials, furniture, and equipment.
Financial Oversight
- Partner with Principals on budgeting and resource allocation.
- Review budgets and manage purchases and supplies.
- Implement systems for purchase requests and compliance.
Human Resources
- Manage hiring, professional development, and performance evaluations for non-instructional staff.
- Ensure staff certification and employment compliance.
Events, Communications, Recruitment & Enrollment
- Oversee school events and logistics.
- Coordinate family communications and visitor hosting.
- Support student recruitment, lotteries, and enrollment activities.
Professional & Team Development
- Identify and implement staff development opportunities.
- Participate in regional and school leadership meetings.
- Serve as a non-instructional leader aligned with school leadership.
