Job DescriptionThe Community Engagement Specialist position is a Full-Time position. The right candidate will conduct telephone, written, and face to face outreach and engagement activities to facilitate collaborations with community-based organizations, such as Doctor's offices, schools, faith-based organizations, etc. This is a field-based position and daily travel is required to our Child and Family Mental Health Clinics located in Brooklyn and the Bronx.The position will report to the Director, Administration and Marketing and frequent our Brooklyn Child and Family Mental Health Centers located at 102 Piling Street and 2857 Linden Blvd, Brooklyn NY. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the Director, Administration and Marketing and the Chief Executive Officer, to develop and implement a strategic outreach plan as set forth as a team
  • Develop short and long-term outreach plan and goals
  • Plan and coordinate outreach activities in designated areas that are intended to identify, and capture the attention and interest of parents and caregivers that meet the requirements of our program
  • Identify and engage community-based organizations by attendingHealth Fairs/Community Events, Specific Site Engagement, Recruitment and various other means of outreach
  • Flexibility to attend events on short notice throughout New York City
  • Identify and attend coalition meetings to inform organizations about and increase the visibility of NYPCC's services
  • Support with organizing and facilitating NYPCC workshops and agency presentations to community partners and schools
  • Plan and coordinate activities to develop partnerships with other community organizations and agencies
  • Maintain outreach logs and complete tracking tools in a timely manner utilizing our CRM, Salesforce
  • Attend and engage in team and external meetings
  • Attend training and professional development as and when required
  • Carry out other duties to commensurate with the job title as delegated by Director, Administration and Marketing
Qualifications
  • A minimum of High school diploma/GED is required; an Associates degree or Bachelor's Degree is preferred
  • MUST be Bilingual - English/Spanish
  • Experience in community outreach and the ability to build and maintain successful strategic partnerships is required
  • Welcoming, enthusiastic, and energetic demeanor with the ability to communicate information clearly and concisely.
  • Must have reliable vehicle to conduct field outreach and travel within assigned boroughs
  • High level of motivation, self-direction, and the ability to work independently in the community
  • Computer literacy and efficiency using Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook), the internet and CRM platforms, such as, Salesforce
  • Comfortable with public speaking and giving presentations
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills and effective time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a demanding and complex work environment to carry out assignments with attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and adjust to change
  • Strong knowledge of social media and other basic marketing platforms.
  • Detail-orientated with the ability to manage multiple projects at a time.
  • Strong demonstration of professionalism
Additional InformationSalary Range: $50,000 - $60,000 per yearCompensation commensurate with experience and qualifications. Working Conditions:This position operates mainly out in the field and requires transportation between locations, including exposure to outside weather conditions.Physical Requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and hear on the phone throughout the day, stand and sit for an extended periods of time when needed, be able to write and answer emails and carry objects no greater than 50 pounds.NYPCC is a fast-paced, energetic, dynamic environment that employs people with a passion for our mission.NYPCC is an Equal Opportunity Employer
