Our advocacy client in Washington, DC is looking for a Communications Writer to join their team on a 2-3 month contract. This position is 40 hours a week and fully remote.The ideal candidate will have experience researching individuals for profiles, contacting interviewees and conducting interviews for editorial articles. You will be passionate about issues surrounding military/veterans. You must including writing samples to be included.Duties Of The Communications Writer

• Manage the scheduling of interviews with members via email and phone
• Conduct interview with members
• Secure photos, videos, and relevant materials to the interviewed members
• Write video scripts/storyboard to create compelling videos to highlight member stories
• Provided detailed and clear notes for additional team members to write stories and member profiles
• Write member profiles/stories based on the interview
• Draft quotes and testimonials for marketing materials
• Catalogue interview transcripts, quotes, assets into the interal DAM
• Copy edit and proofread profiles and newsletter content
• Manage admin tasks including processing invoices as needed

Requirements Of The Communications Writer

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications
• Excellent writing skills
• Experience conducting interviews for journalistic/editorial purposes
• Experience researching individuals and topics
• You should be comfortable listening to interviewees discuss personal issues surrounding suicide, depression, harassment
• Excellent project management and customer service skills
• Excellent copy editing and proofreading skills
