The Florida Division of Emergency Management is hiring a full-time, in-person Communications Coordinator who thrives in a fast-paced work environment. Those applying for this role should be willing and able to work extenuating hours in the event of activation for emergencies impacting the State of Florida. Development of social media content on various social media platforms in coordination with Strategic Communications Manager. Draft press releases, gubernatorial proclamations and website content. Draft talking points and presentations for conferences and speaking events. Event pitches and event planning. Track and analyze relevant news media coverage. Conduct constituent relations via phone and email. Serve as a Public Information Officer for the State Emergency Response Team during states of emergency. Manage outreach collateral inventory and provide materials to communities as requested.
