Communication Specialist - Buffalo Health Equity : Job Details

As a Communication Specialist at Buffalo Center for Health Equity, you will promote the corporate identity and mission to the customers, public, and employees through the creation and distribution of print and electronic information. The Communication Specialist will ensure a positive company image is portrayed in various promotional materials, marketing efforts, and online channels to foster a favorable perception of the organization.Reporting to our Chief Operating Officer, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing and producing, from concept to completion, a broad array of digital and/or print promotional and communication materials for the organization.
• Ensuring that all materials present a clear, unified, and positive image for the organization and/or brand.
• Planning, preparing, and distributing original promotional content such as articles, news and press releases, e-mail, blog, and social media posts.
• Scheduling and coordinating podcast interviews.
• Promoting and attending special events and functions; promoting and reporting on corporate milestones and activities such as company goals and projects; community service activities; and new hires, promotions, and retirements.
• Arranging for photography and/or press coverage for special events.
• Collaborating with web development and design teams; providing guidance on marketing-related aspects of company web presence.
• Developing and expanding the companys web presence through social media, e-mail, web advertising, and other online sources; promoting company brand through these channels.
• Coordinating with other marketing team members to ensure active promotions and campaigns are active and represented on the website(s).
• Collaborating with web design, development, and content company to monitor and improve search engine optimization (SEO) results for the companys site(s).
• Performing other related duties as assigned.

You are someone who has:

• Bachelors degree, or equivalent combination of education/experience.
• 2+ years of experience in marketing, publications, or a related field, required.
• Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills and attention to detail
• Extensive knowledge of marketing principles and strategies.
• Proven ability to plan and implement marketing campaigns.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and desktop publishing software.
