Position Overview The Commissioning Technician is primarily responsible for the commissioning of large-scale battery storage projects. They will perform and help to lead a team of internal and 3rd-party engineers and technicians through the process of cold and hot commissioning of all system components including the performance testing at a system level. In addition, this position also interfaces with third-party suppliers of large system components including inverters, transformers, and air conditioning systems. The work schedule is M-F 5 days/8 hour shifts with potential for longer days with a 2 weeks on, 1 week off rotation cycle. Primary Responsibilities
- Aligns the commissioning safety plan with all parties involved.
- Performs the project commissioning procedure.
- Update and install software and settings onto control equipment and switches.
- Test for communication and network connectivity.
- Clear faults/alarms, and diagnose with vendors on troubleshooting steps.
- Use software User Interface to charge and discharge batteries.
- Understand and use the LOTO procedures provided.

- Safety mindset: must have sound judgement and triage skills to make safe workplace decisions onsite in the field or bring to the appropriate decision makers for consultation
- Technical competency to troubleshoot and commission complex electrical systems

- Must be comfortable working outdoors at project sites in variable weather conditions
Education and Experience
- Minimum Associates' degree
- Experience having worked on battery projects or solar projects
Travel requirements
- Prefer if the technician is located near the Phoenix, AZ or Blythe, CA areas
- Regular work schedule is an 8 hour shift 5 days on, 2 days off (M-F); during certain phases of commissioning there is potential for 10 hour days 5-6 days a week with a 2 weeks on, and 1 week off rotation cycle.
