Position Overview

Join a nationally respected leader in electrical engineering, construction, and commissioning as a Commissioning Project Manager. This unique opportunity allows a motivated commissioning expert to play a pivotal role in guiding end-to-end system validation, startup, and performance testing for major infrastructure, mission critical, and industrial environments. This position is based in Jackson, MS with substantial travel (70% required).

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the commissioning and quality assurance/quality control (QAQC) processes for electrical and specialty systems on high-value projects.
  • Manage the startup schedules, meetings, and documentation processes.
  • Coordinate with construction, engineering, and safety teams to ensure compliance with operational and client specifications.
  • Manage commissioning issue logs and ensure timely resolution of issues with stakeholders.
  • Work closely with third-party testing agents to manage quality deliverables.
  • Support the recruiting, onboarding, and mentoring of commissioning team members.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across startup protocols and safety practices.
  • Facilitate clear communication with clients, contractors, and field teams to achieve performance milestones.
  • Ensure all project activities adhere to the highest safety and quality standards.

Candidate Requirements

  • 5+ years of project or construction management experience.
  • 8+ years of commissioning/startup experience with electrical and/or mechanical systems.
  • Proven track record leading commissioning efforts on construction projects exceeding $25M.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience in mission critical, industrial, or large commercial project environments is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of QAQC/Cx standards, startup procedures, and industry best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and passport; willingness to travel long-term to project sites (75% travel required).

Technologies and Methodologies

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace.
  • Exposure to commissioning and QAQC/Cx management platforms.
