Role DescriptionThis is a full-time on-site role for Commissioning Engineers at Radiance Solar, located in Marietta, GA. The role involves commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting solar power systems to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. Day-to-day tasks include inspecting installations, verifying system performance, and documenting findings for compliance with regulatory and industry standards. The engineers will work alongside the engineering, procurement, and construction teams to meet project deadlines and deliver high-quality solar solutions.
Qualifications - Experience in commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting solar power systems
- Knowledge of electrical systems and solar energy technologies
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Proficiency in using testing and monitoring equipment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field
- Experience with safety protocols and compliance in the renewable energy sector
- Relevant certifications such as NABCEP (North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners) preferred
Responsibilities - Project Planning & Coordination:
- Develop commissioning plans, schedules, and procedures in coordination with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Participate in design and constructability reviews to incorporate commissioning requirements early in the project.
- Coordinate with engineering, construction, and quality teams to ensure readiness for commissioning activities.
- System Inspection & Verification:
- Perform pre-functional and functional testing of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
- Verify installation meets design drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
- Conduct inspections and witness tests to ensure systems function as intended.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of commissioning activities including punch lists, test results, and issue resolution.
- Generate and submit commissioning documentation such as functional performance test plans, field reports, and completion certificates.
- Develop and manage turnover packages for client approval.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance:
- Ensure all systems comply with safety, operational, and performance standards.
- Review and validate test documentation provided by vendors and subcontractors.
- Participate in audits, peer reviews, and regulatory inspections.
- Training & Handover:
- Provide training to operations and maintenance personnel on commissioned systems.
- Support client walkdowns and facilitate final handover of systems to operations.
