Role summary This position requires a seasoned commercial real estate paralegal with broad experience in title and survey review, leasing, sales, acquisitions, and financings. The role demands exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage responsibilities in a fast-moving legal environment.
Responsibilities - Draft and assess contracts, leases, and closing documents
- Review title documents, property descriptions, and purchase offers
- Research zoning laws, tax codes, environmental regulations, and industry issues
- Facilitate communication between attorneys, clients, landlords, and title agents
- Maintain well-organized and up-to-date client files
- Assist attorneys with contract negotiations and transaction closings
- Draft affidavits and prepare for depositions
- Monitor financial transactions, foreclosures, and eviction documentation
- Respond to client inquiries and escalate when necessary
Must-have qualifications - 5+ years of current or recent experience as a commercial real estate paralegal in a major law firm
- Proven experience with title and survey review, purchases, sales, leasing, and real estate financings
- Bachelor's degree and/or Paralegal Certificate
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with strong prioritization skills
Preferred qualifications - Experience coordinating multi-property or multi-jurisdictional closings
- Familiarity with New York real estate procedures and document standards
