Job Function / Summary:

Working under the direct supervision of a Portfolio Group Manager, Senior Group Sales Manager, or Market President, the Commercial Portfolio Manager 2 is a key member of the client's Credit Delivery Team, including Relationship Managers, Commercial Client Administrators, market leadership, credit officers, etc. The primary responsibilities include credit analysis, underwriting, and portfolio management. The portfolio mainly consists of Wholesale Banking relationships across various industries such as C & I, manufacturing, distribution, professional services, transportation, and specialties. The products involved include lines of credit, term notes, owner-occupied real estate, and other credit products. The role also involves identifying and recommending new clients and cross-selling opportunities to grow and strengthen existing relationships.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Essential Duties
  • Partner with RMs, market leadership, senior management, and credit officers to originate, monitor, and grow profitable Wholesale Banking relationships.
  • Perform due diligence, credit analysis, underwriting, and prepare credit approval packages for various loan activities.
  • Manage and monitor portfolios to ensure compliance with credit policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of loan agreements and monitor for compliance.
  • Prepare reviews to assess financial performance and risk ratings, ensuring timely completion.
  • Communicate effectively with internal partners involved in the underwriting and portfolio management process.
  • Participate in client/prospect calls to understand their business.
Additional Duties
  • Assist in preparing due diligence for new client relationships.
  • Serve as a point of contact for clients and liaise with the Credit Delivery Team.
  • Participate in credit request discussions and presentations.
  • Assist with client servicing activities and document monitoring.
  • Conduct industry and market analysis to evaluate credit capacity.
  • Stay informed on economic conditions and legislation affecting client relationships.
  • Review loan documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Monitor client performance and ensure accurate risk assessments.
  • Resolve documentation exceptions and notify management of significant risk changes.
  • Support special projects and respond to credit reviews.
  • Develop underwriting skills and support team members.
  • Safeguard client information and adhere to bank policies and regulations.
  • Complete all required training and report any procedural issues or fraud.
  • Identify cross-sell opportunities for bank products.
  • Engage in civic, community, or industry activities annually.

Minimum Education, Experience & Knowledge:
  • Bachelor's degree required; in Business, Finance, Accounting preferred.
  • At least 3 years of banking, credit analysis, or related experience.
  • Credit analysis training or experience is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and financial skills.
  • Knowledge of banking products, loan documentation, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Ability to analyze financial statements and perform risk assessments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software.
  • Strong organizational, customer service, and presentation skills.
  • Understanding of macro/microeconomic issues and risk concepts.
Essential Mental & Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Ability to lift/move approximately 25 pounds if required, with accommodations as needed.
